The Waterline Redevelopment
The site was
...a compact 500 s.f. space within an existing warehouse in Santa Barbara’s Funk Zone. Blair Fox Cellars approached KMA to transform the space into a tasting room that would reflect the character of the neighborhood while creating an intimate experience for guests.
We began by studying
...how to make the most of the small footprint while celebrating the unique character of the existing building. Texture and color were introduced to bring warmth to the space, while glass walls provide glimpses into neighboring tenants and create a greater sense of openness.An indoor/outdoor bar and dining area extends the tasting room beyond its walls, taking advantage of the intimate outdoor space and Santa Barbara’s year-round climate. The design also creates visual connections to the other makers and hospitality spaces within the building, including Topa Topa Brewing.
Today, the once-dated
...warehouse space has become an intimate, open wine tasting room that connects naturally to the surrounding spaces and energy of the Funk Zone. Indoor-outdoor seating, transparency, and warm materials make the small footprint feel expansive while creating a relaxed setting for experiencing Blair Fox Cellars wines.
