...an existing family home that no longer provided the space or functionality needed for a growing family. The clients approached KMA to add bedrooms for their children, create dedicated space for play, and rethink the kitchen and everyday utility spaces.
We began by studying
...how an addition could create more space while improving the way the entire home functioned. The new wing includes two children’s bedrooms and their own great room, opening through large sliding glass doors to a courtyard that extends play and family life outdoors.Varied roof forms break down the scale of the addition while creating high ceilings and bringing natural light into the interior. The remodel also includes an updated kitchen, pantry, and laundry room, along with a complete reworking of the dated street-facing façade.
Today, the once-dated
...home has been transformed into a light-filled family residence with room to grow. New bedrooms, flexible gathering spaces, and a strong connection to the courtyard create a home designed around everyday family life, while the reimagined exterior gives the house a fresh architectural identity.
